Customer Service

Hill & Markes, Inc. is seekingprofessional, courteous, and experienced Customer Service Representatives. We handle a vast product line and work closely with our employees, customers, sales people, andother industry professionals. Job Duties

  • Handles customer calls courteously.
  • Handles customer problems, enters orders, and order status.
  • Attends to customer concerns, inquiries, and order requests.
  • Reviews buying history of customer and places special orders.
  • Develops and distributes order planner sheet for customers.
  • Suggestive selling to increase sales is encouraged.
  • Is responsible for following up to ensure customer receives order.
  • Is responsible for checking daily reports and call schedule.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with sales force about back orders, pricing, customer complaints, and any other related items.
  • Responsible for predetermined key accounts.
  • Prints reports and histories.
  • Reviews inventory status, tracks lost orders.
  • Updates, revises, and enters customer quotes into system.

Additional Duties:

  • Assists other customer service representatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Two to threeyears of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Excel experience is ideal for the qualified candidate

Equipment Service Technician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Equipment Service Technician will primarily be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, providing parts and service quotes, and effectively communicating with customers on all equipment repairs and inquiries. The various types of floor care cleaning equipment includes corded and battery operated floor cleaning machinery, inclusive of auto-scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors, vacuums, etc.You will also be responsible for maintaining and preparing all demo equipment for our Equipment Specialists.


This position may require travel throughout the greater Capital Region.

Additional Duties:

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on Company and Customer products and equipment.
  • Source parts for various equipment and place parts orders.
  • Effectively scheduling time and arranging all customer service calls, planned maintenance and breakdowns, to maintain effective Customer Service.
  • Efficiently manage inventory levels to maximize inventory turns while minimizing return trips to customers.
  • Maintain records of all service activities and business reporting documentation, through the use of customer repair order logs, service agreements, completed repair orders, timesheets, machine checklists, receiving records, and expense reports.
  • Estimate machine repair requirements and prepare necessary data to provide an accurate repair quote to the customer.
  • Work seamlessly with other departments within the organization (Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales Executives).
  • Partner with Sales Executives in regard to potential customer applications for equipment replacements.
  • Work directly with manufacturers to apply for equipment warranties, diagnose and resolve equipment repair concerns.
  • Prep new machines for delivery.
  • Source manuals and schematics for machines.
  • Diagnose, document and repair equipment.
  • Handle machine PM?s when required.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of customer equipment as necessary.
  • Consistently present a professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Clean/Valid NYS Driver License
  • High school diploma or equivalent, vocational school coursework a plus
  • Minimum of two year?s work experience with the above duties
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Safely use hand and power tools, equipment and diagnostic devices
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of how to use a personal computer, including MS Office Suite, email, and proprietary Hill & Markes, Inc. systems
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds
  • Ability to spend 30% of the day bending, stooping, kneeling and/or squatting

Dispatcher

Position Outline:

The Dispatcher will work closely with members of the Distribution team to increase Company profitability and Customer satisfaction by efficient and cost-effective scheduling of deliveries and routine of trucks. The Dispatcher will occasionally deliver product to Customers.



Dispatcher Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
  • Track, coordinate and schedule all Equipment Repair and PM services.
  • Responsible for ensuring replacement vehicles are available for next day?s deliveries if needed.
  • Responsible for handling and tracking all VDCR, Fuel & Mileage, Drivers Logs.
  • Track trucks and deliveries in a timely manner by communicating with drivers, and customer representatives (Pickups and deliveries)
  • Take an investigative approach when tracking deliveries, talking to drivers and customer service to ensure the information gathered is accurate.
  • Keep constant communication with our drivers and customer service reps via email updates and verbally regarding truck deliveries to ensure problems are identified prior by being proactive.
  • Help resolve and avoid issues keeping all necessary parties informed.
  • Handle all incoming phone calls from drivers and Customer service.
  • Assign new Route codes to delivery areas.
  • Route drivers in an effective manner using forward thinking.
  • Make sure drivers have proper info for pickups and deliveries and understand all intricacies of the load.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with all other departments of the company.
  • Maintain accurately described routes in process at all times, maintain route updates, and make route changes as necessary.
  • Ensure that all equipment is dispatched for regular service and maintenance in accordance with an established preventive maintenance program, and that downtime is minimal.
  • Track the progress that drivers make along their routes.
  • Deliver product when there are Driver call-ins or shortages.
  • Perform such duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be required to accomplish the essential job functions as directed by the Director of Operations.

Dispatcher Requirements:

  • Clean and valid Class A/Class B New York State Driver License.
  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Three (3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Must have working experience with Windows and Microsoft Applications (Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of logistics and shipping policies & procedures.
  • Superior Customer Service.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to read a map and accurately plan a route.
  • Effective listening and communication skills, problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Candidates must have the ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, background and motor vehicle record (MVR) screening
