How To Bring The Shake To Life

Don?t be freaked out (pun intended) by the enormity of the shake. Here is our step-by-step guide using real-life visuals from our shakes & cakes seminar: To begin this process, we are of the understanding that you have the equipment and ingredients needed to start crafting your freakshake.

Hill & Markes Buttercream Frosting Step 1

Step 1. Remember, the toppings and décor of the freakshake is what makes the shake so unique. Start by using some buttercream cake frosting on the outer edge of the cup to make sure your colorful toppings stick.

Hill & Markes Sprinkles Step 2

Step 2. Choose which toppings you want on the outer edge of the cup. Best practice is to color coordinate the toppings to match the garnish.

o     For example, if you are making a breakfast themed milkshake, you?ll want to use brown or darker ingredients (chocolate sprinkles, Oreos, and chocolate shake mix) to coordinate with the garnish (waffle or pancake).

o      We used a colorful donut as a garnish. So it made perfect sense to add extra colorful sprinkles on the outer edge of cup.

Hill & Markes M&M Step 4

Step 3. You didn?t think that was enough color did you? Now that we have the sprinkles on the edge, let?s add some colored M&Ms. Remember, you can?t overdress a milkshake, only a salad .

Step 4. Then, we fill a separate container with a small amount of milkshake . From there, we add the first layer of filling; sprinkles. Add more milkshake and add more filling; M&M?s. Mix it up and add some chocolate fudge on the inner side of the cup so that it drizzles down the side.
